When Dr. Simper started his practice at Southridge Dental, his desire was to create a dental practice that he, as a dentist, would be pleased to go to — one of his main focuses being patient comfort and convenience. Simple things like scheduling patients so they didn’t have to wait to get in for their appointment, or having the best technology to properly serve patients, were (and still are) a top priority. Not only does Dr. Simper have great chairside manner and listen to you closely, but he is also skilled at all aspects of dentistry!

What is the Academy of General Dentistry? 

The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is the professional association for general dentists. It is the only organization exclusively dedicated to representing the interests and serving the needs of general dentists, like Dr. Simper.

Why is a Fellowship important?

A dentist who has received their Fellowship offers his or her patients cutting-edge care. The dentists have to complete 500 hours of continuing education in various disciplines and then pass a rigorous examination. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it to make sure our patients are getting the best possible care available!

How long does Fellowship take? 

It varies based on personal availability to take the special courses and exams. For Dr. Simper, it took 4 years to achieve Fellowship. To earn Fellowship in the AGD, dentists must take more than 500 hours of educational courses in various disciplines. Candidates must also pass a rigorous exam. The award is then presented to general dentists in a formal ceremony. Sean Simper, D.D.S., is one of only 7 percent of general dentists who have achieved this honor!
